Mixing collage with charcoal drawing

Further development and working into large scale drawing. Changing the horizon line. The urban landscape disappearing beneath. Like water but heavy and still.

First attempt wasn’t high enough

This depth/height of the horizon sits better with me. I like the solidness

The addition of a collage piece- current state of demolition of government building -view from my studio window.

Listening to a lot of Kate Bush at the moment. In an interview she was once asked “why do you write from the perspective of a lot of other characters?” And she said quite simply “because they are more interesting than I am”. (Which I don’t think could be further than the truth!) It sits with me because I am coming into a time in my research where the various parts in the development of my visual language are beginning to come together finally.
